something's leaving me behind it's just a feeling in my mind what was it you always said we're connected by a thread
some of the dual vocals on this give me major Of Monsters and Men vibes. which is fine / good, but very unexpected. overall i really dig the feel and atmosphere of the record - pretty much perfect for this upcoming summer. looking forward to listening again in a quiet setting at home to really dive in.
the Terrible Love distaste always kinda blows my mind, one of my favorites probably. But I also wasn't a fan at the time and wasn't listening to demos or live cuts ahead of time and that probably changed my experience of it
'The Pull of You' and 'Not in Kansas' are my two standouts from first listen. So many beautiful sounds throughout the album though.
OK, first listen time! Quiet Light and The Pull of You are every bit as good as their live versions, and as far as brand new stuff goes, Hey Rosey is brilliant. Very on board so far.
Jesus this album. Sleep Well Beast never really clicked with me as much as some of their previous albums but this is incredible.
I honestly love the way this album flows. reminds me of I like it when you sleep in the way I think of it in three acts
title track is easily my fav on the first run. feel like i'd be super into this band if they did more stuff like that.
Verse 3 of So Far So Fast... fucking hell. Don't you know someday somebody will come and find you? If you don't know who you are anymore, they will remind you We don't see you around here anymore, it's okay I will say your name out loud and you will be home There are so many things that drive me crazy What you think I am, it's never been me Hearing you talk always saves me Can you get away and talk to me?
Carrow and I are basically listening to this at the same time together haha. Good lord, I'm trying not to get over hyped at this point considering I haven't even listened to the full thing, but is this their best album?
Just finished my first listen. Easily their most ambitious record and another step in the right direction for a band who it could be argued painted themselves into a corner on Trouble Will Find Me, an album I love but is probably peak-National in terms of how it sounds and what they do with it. What I'm saying is they might not have gotten away with another record like it. Sleep Well Beast showed their willingness to experiment and IAETF is them doubling down on that while still keeping in mind what they're good at. Not as immediate as SWB but this sounds like it'll be incredibly rewarding and an absolute blast live.
