If anything is boring it's that pitchfork review, it's the most predictable piece of writing I think I've ever read from them.
boxer is too low in his ranking imo (though typically musicians hate the records that were hard to make, i get it). still a great list

I laughed at this whole thing, but I think the very last line about Iris getting very passive-aggressive was my favorite.
I am constantly baffled by people thinking Alligator is this band's best record. Usually, I can see the argument for why people pick something as a band's best, even if I don't agree. But man, that album is such a distant fifth for me. Sixth after this new one.
I straight up hate the production on that record and it often kept from enjoying it like their other records.
That's one of the things I don't like about it. I also just don't think the songs are as good, with some (very) notable exceptions.
