This and CRJ coming out on the same day is going to play on every emotion I have.

Also, the song is gorgeous. I don’t like hearing both the first and last track on the album though. Good thing there are 14 others between them.

I love this song, but kinda hate it when closers get released as singles? I don’t know why, it just bothers me. Amazing song though.

@Drew Beringer, what are your favorite songs and where do you rank the album? Are you ready to share that yet?

I'm reviewing it elsewhere and while I'm trying not to talk about it any more than I already have, it would be cool to have another advance opinion. (I don't want to get in trouble so if you don't want to either I understand lmao.)

EDIT: Fwiw, I've certainly made up my mind about the album and think it's very good, if surprisingly messy. Same with the short film.

I’m not drew but have an advance. Title track is a top 5 National song for me - it’s perfect.

Thanks to this thread I was able to avoid listening because it’s the closer.

    Thanks everyone :)

    Very excited for this album.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I love it haha. That, oblivion’s, the pull of you, and not in Kansas are my favorites - NIK is stunningly heartbreaking.

I'm not going to say my favorites/not-favorites until the album's out (if only bc I don't want to get in trouble with the place I'm reviewing for or the band's pr team).

The only problem is I keep wanting to talk about it, so I suppose trouble will find me, as I am easy to find.

Cheekiness aside, I will say that the short film is EXTREMELY important to understanding the record, and vice versa (albeit to a lesser extent). But watch the short film first.

I haven’t seen the film yet, but I assume some of the track listings order choices are due to the flow of the film?

I haven't thought of it that way, but maybe! It just puts the lyrics of the songs into context.

    hey you lil piss baby

They played a show in Paris tonight and the setlist was all new material. This was pre-Special Evening shows and looks like it was for a radio station. Maybe some audio or video will pop up soon.
