Tropic, Euc, Grease, Deep End, Turn Off, Space Invader, Laugh Track, Smoke are all worthy entries. They’ve released enough solid albums that being outside of the top 30 is no kind of slight, as well.
I love how frantic Smoke Detector is. Unreal song. Those vocals and the rest of the band occasionally having an outburst of frenzied emotion is just top notch.
I'm enjoying F2PoF way more since Laugh Track dropped. I think the minimal, subtle nature of most of the songs on F2P kind of just failed to excite me about the bands return, so the album kinda passed me by. I like their softer material well enough, but there was always exciting music to contrast it against previously. Now that I have Laugh Track to contrast it against, I am enjoying it a lot more because it is just one half of their offerings for 2023. I usually end up listening to both back to back haha.
I like About Today but it's probably their most overrated song based on everyone on here for some reason putting it up there with their best. It's still very good. the 69th (nice) best National song is still better than the vast majority of bands best songs
Sad Songs is very good but easily their weakest outside of maybe their debut but I haven't listened to that one
I think Sad Songs is pretty whatever when I revisited it a month ago. Made it all the way through SWB, but didn’t have the heart to finish the last three albums and finally check out the self-titled Maybe I’ll power through, but idk
