i agree and i didn’t like it to begin with lol. excited to listen later tho, space invader is so good
Yeah not to be ungrateful, but it does feel pretty lazy, even for a companion album. The singles artwork during the HV era (and other earlier albums too) did a nice job of tying in aesthetically without duplicating the main release from that time.
I like Weird Goodbyes but it kinda does stick out a bit here. personally I'd have swapped it's places with Alien
trying to convince myself Turn off the House isn't their greatest work, I'm failing miserably thus far
The instrumentation on WG seems to fit a little better with the FTPOF songs to me, but it's such a minor quibble and it's certainly not a bad song by any stretch. These guys are the experts. The new songs are all phenomenal. I don't think I can pick standouts quite yet, because I've had some time with "Alphabet City" & "Space Invader" already and I played the hell out of them, so I gotta let the new ones sink in a bit.
I really like Hornets. I still really dislike Weird Goodbyes. Thankfully that has been the worst track so far.
"Hornets" is a standout to me, reminds me a little of Phoebe's "Graceland Too" mixed with "Pink Rabbits"
