Also wondering this, I am going tonight. Edit: setlist.fm says Soccer Mommy is 7:30-8:15 and The National are either 8:45-10:45 or 9-11.
On night 12, they’re announcing a new album Aaron Won’t Produce Another Artist’s Album Again. It’s got guitars, Bryan is back on drums, and Matt is singing about New York and being drunk in a suit again. The liner notes is 14 pages rebuking their past creative relationship with Taylor Swift. Comes in 14 variants and the 1975 are featured on every song (not the full band, just Matt H making “jokes” over Matt B yelling). The boys are back.
Yeah. They have to be planning something semi-soon. That’s be cruel to do this and then release these songs in 4 years.
Looking at the setlists for the Chicago shows has me very excited for next weekend. Seems like they are pulling anything/everything out for this tour. Honestly wish I bought tickets to both Portland shows, but back to back shows is a little much for my old ass and Edgefield is a pain to get to on Friday nights.
Also, took four nights but we finally got Matt back in the crowd. It’s not going to be an every night sort of thing based on what they said but it’ll happen occasionally.
What’s your impression of the new tracks they did @bradpetrik ? Tour Manager, Deep End, and Turn Off the House, looks like.
I have a hard time whenever they play new things as I know they’re being a bit more reserved while playing them. I do think they sound good, would love it if they’re released and we get proper live versions of them.
