The National set to release a 15-track CD of deep cuts, solo and collaborative rarities, including two unreleased tracks interesting
i doubt this is the "other project" they've teased that'll be the home of Weird Goodbyes. still intrigued to see what's on the disc though.
Doubling down on my prediction of it being a remix album, with different artists rearranging and singing over unreleased National stems/arrangements. This magazine CD seems unrelated.
my 10 year old PC with a disc drive (which hasn't been my daily driver in 4 years) also picked the wrong time to finally give out, so i'm either gonna order this and buy a disc drive (which would probably be useless at this point), or wait to see if the unreleased songs/deep cuts end up somewhere to listen. hoping for a CD-quality version of Warm Singing Whores and not just a vinyl rip, haha.
Placing my hate in spoiler tags again so as to voice my concerns but not rain on anyone’s parade: I feel as if this band is just showing me paint swatches of like 4 different shades of the color gray over and over again and going “hmm?” I can’t stand this song lol cute video, though.
East LA kids will recognize some of the concrete play structure animals in the last portion of the video from Vincent Lugo Park in San Gabriel, CA. I played there as a kid and recently took my toddler and I was like “NOPE. You’re not climbing this 14 foot tall concrete animal with tiny eroded toe holds and zero rails or handles.”
