it's less how the music sounds and more so the construction of the album. there's a mix of stuff recorded on the road and studio polish here that reminds me a lot of how Hi-Fi was made, thematically there's also some lines you can draw between them (lots of departure, travel, letting go on both albums)

It is a boi who became a National fan in 2010 and has been disappointed in nearly every creative choice or direction the National has taken since 2010.

A Vanderlyle Guybaby Guy is someone who became a fan at any point in time but who thinks High Violet is peak National and the band has decreased in quality with nearly every creative choice or direction they have taken since 2010.

A Slept Well He is someone who correctly acknowledges SWB as their best record and appreciates their growth, even in their adult contemporary later career era. If you see a Slept Well He with a tiny -HV next to their title, that is a Slept Well He who advocates against the High Violet fan base on Chorus.fm earning them special honors.

 

They kind already did several e-bows on I Am Easy to Find, much to the chagrin of the High Violet Himbos.

 

None of this lore makes any sense to me. Funny that all three terms are distinctly male, though.

Anyways, back to adoring Boxer and being very intrigued by this upcoming release.
