Personally I love that the drumming sounds much less like one of those samples kids play on keyboards than the other single. Sounds like Bryan Devendorf is actually playing them on this track, which is great.

Wait, which one absolutely sucks??? I can't stand the "drumming" on Tropic Morning News but even still it's a pretty cool song and it's catchy AF.

It really is so inoffensive

 

All these songs are fine but just fine and I expect more at this point I guess. I love IAETF outside of its length and interludes, there are like 7 songs on it that make me feel a thousand times more than any of these 2/3 do so far. The drums are a reasonable complaint imo but not the only issue.

I like this one. I like this one a lot. Since Wasp Nest is a top 5 for me, this song is kind of made for me.

Obviously wildly different bands, but I feel a song like this (where they're dipping a toe in their "older style") works so much better than when a band like Coldplay tries it.
