realised the tour this year means I have another chance to finally hear Mistaken For Strangers live. not their best song but it's the one that got me into them.

This is the consequence of lengthy album rollouts. LET IT BE KNOWN.

 

the last two national albums have done little to nothing for me, but I adored Boxer, High Violet and Trouble Will Find Me. Saw them a bunch of times during this period too. The new song seems ok but not really clicking for me either and I'm not feeling that motivated to go to a date this time around right now

 

I'm trying to figure out how you haven't.

And this is their shortest rollout so far!

 

didn't get to see them on either the Boxer or High Violet tour (school commitments or just plain impossible to get tickets for - I sat my leaving exams in 2011 for context) and then, well:

Dublin 2013, TWFM tour - first time, no dice
Dublin 2018, Sleep Well Beast tour - nope
Limerick 2022, delayed IAETF tour - no but those FUCKERS added it to the Belfast set two days later which was the show I was originally meant to see them at in the before times. rude, imo.

 

I'm fairly certain I've seen it every time I've gone so that's why I'm baffled.

 

They didn’t play it in 2018 either. Maybe they just think Ireland hates the song

even more unlucky that way because night one in Dublin in 2017, the setlist (which was an arena-level band playing a 1600-cap venue and thus impossible to get tickets for) looked like this. damn.

hoping they play it in Amsterdam then!

 

I’ve seen them 4 times I think and the one boston show I deliberately said I’m not going to see them play the same set again they busted out geese, all the wine, and cherry tree and my friends were there and I wasn’t lol. Pwned

 

I live in Cincinnati and am really hopeful for a Homecoming Fest this year
