reupping Cherry Tree let's gooooo

 

The live vinyl are worth the price of admission every year alone. I’ve always wondered how they even break even with it

 

I may need to reconsider my Cherry Tree stance but not having a full collection of vinyl will irk me.

 

I’ve thought about this before as someone who has been a member since the start, about how upset I would be if I was missing a random year. I’m sure there are people who buy them just to resell too, sadly

All jokes aside, I’d love to know the step past The National haha. What would we qualify as sad grandpa indie?

 

I think post-National sad dad music consumption revolves around losing track of what’s new and being more comfortable listening to music that has no current relevance or critical attention. And also Taylor Swift.

 

The newest Brian Eno album definitely qualifies as "sad grandpa" music (and it's amazing)

 

any grandpa listening to Brian Eno is a pretty fuckin cool grandpa in my book

it's not always songs unlock strictly at midnight, the most recent example is Daughter's single, which unlocked at a fixed time globally

I think it’s smart artists and teams are shying away from that because it takes the wind out of the promo sails

The gap between the release of weird goodbyes and whatever this is is way too long

 

I mean if it’s just an one-off and not on the album I don’t think the gap is that weird or uncommon

it's kind of exciting that except for that amazon leak we have literally nothing else. of course, the cut out faces with quotes, but they come from the band/label so they are not leaks at all.
