At least the mummy has some time as an actual looking mummy. I hate her later design.

Why haven't I seen any reviews for this yet?

So the embargo length isn't a set standard for all movies?

Most companies go based off confidence in a film.

Early reviews are not great. I could still see this being kind of fun.

I can't think of a Tom Cruise movie I have not enjoyed. I am really entertained by all of them. So I'm not worried about this. Might not be great, but it'll be a fun watch.

"Obviously the worst movie that Tom Cruise has ever made." made me laugh

I just wish they actually went the horror route with this universe. doesn't even need to be heavy horror, but at it's core horror. focus on making individually good films that has the added bonus of characters being able to cross over. focusing on the horror aspects would make it unique in the world of these superhero universes. also, if you have a monsterverse.... why not release your films in October haha. feel like june was a weird choice. still will go see this.

Fans see it critically panned and ignoring it in the theater.

This was such a cool idea just horribly executed. Make the mummy look like a mummy, i'm fine without Tom Cruise, make it creepy, doesn't need to be hardcore scares. C'mon now.

yeah I think summer blockbuster is the wrong direction for this. scale it back, make it creepy, not as action packed and one liner filled as it sounds like it is. I'm still going to root for the "universe" going forward cause they can still do better.

Just watch Penny Dreadful instead. No mummies but great portrayals of classic monsters/characters

it'll still happen. it's going to do incredibly well internationally and Universal isn't going to abandon the idea after one movie, especially after announcing so many follow ups (which studios should stop doing haha). it would look very bad for them to back out entirely.
