yeah I'm much less into his solo stuff mainly because i dont particularly think he writes great lyrics. I love the sound of the full band behind him and the music is what catches me more so than the words.

 

Seriously this song is so cool, reminds me of all get out, the beginning of atx? Anyone else hearing this? Not sure if it's intentional or not but the vocal performance feels right up that valley

 

I just hit play on lp... the production sounds insanely a lot like this movielife album haha just not as powerful.

 

If you don't like it, don't give up on his solo stuff because the EP is awesome.

 

Yeah this record is exactly what I would've expected from them in 2017. Lots of fun, and these are Vinnie's best vocal melodies in years. Lot of key changes, which I think is really cool and fits their sound very nicely.

I will say that my complaints before about the production stand firm, even in good quality. Most of these songs have the shit compressed out of them and the drums tones sound amateur as hell imo. The 808's that are meant to accentuate the hard hitting parts wind up hindering them because it's like the volume has to automate itself. Sounds like a Knuckle Puck record or something.

 

damn I almost forgot about this! Need to make time for it sometime this weekend. What a horrible day for music ;)

 

Really wish that song was a minute longer.

 

I hear it in about half of the record. I am really digging the record more and more on each listen.

What did you think of the new Killers record? I think it sucks overall but I also think they haven’t released a good record since Sam’s Town so...

I'd have to listen again. I wasn't really paying attention to particular songs. The acoustic one was nice though!

 

I've only listened to it twice, but I love Pour Two Glasses and Lake Superior.

Who produced and mixed this? It sounds bad.

 

Saw them last night and they were really good. They drew terribly and TEN should have closed so Movielife could have played in front of a decent amount of people but otherwise a great night.

Excited to see them again at Fest next month
