fortnite shit has to be way more damage to his legacy than any potential minor entry in his twilight years of filmmaking
Paul Dano is a solid actor - this at least makes a little more sense not being quite as good as Daniel Day-Lewis at 23 isn't the indictment that Tarantino seems to think it is, even though I think he was fine in that movie it takes balls to put yourself out there in scenes with Day-Lewis at any age imho
He's also great in Prisoners, Love & Mercy...I just can't imagine thinking he's that bad from a technical standpoint.
Daniel-Day Lewis is pro-Palestine and a lot of celebrities are so I don't know if that is the reason.
I think QT has consistently held the stupid opinion since 2007 that he didn't like Dano in it, but I'm sure the added vitriol this time around is related to that
It is also bizarre that someone who is so influenced by Asian cinema didn't list a single non-English film in his list.
His picks don’t even sound that well thought out either? He kept referring to Lost in Translation as a girlie girl movie
His suggested replacement is Austin Butler? He knows the guy would have been like 15 at the time TWBB was filmed right?
If you’ve heard even a single episode of his podcast you know it’s best to just smile and nod at this point. I’m sure he can still make a good movie but his opinions on most things are very bad.
I would imagine most directors are tough to deal with. To have the ego to think you should run an entire film probably attracts a certain type of person. There's probably a reason Scorsese and Cameron are on their fifth wives.
speaking of, the Mr. Scorsese doc that Rebecca Miller (DDL's wife/Arthur Miller's daughter) did is fantastic
