Quentin is such an insufferable dork. Sure he doesn't owe us anything, but stop being so precious about your mythical "10th and final movie" You can make more than 1 more movie dude, keep taking the checks the studios will write for you as long as possible

Also Kill Bill - that counts as 2 movies idc what he thinks. He's already made 10 lol

This is why I don't generally get interested in announced films until there is concrete information that they are filming. Tarantino has abandoned more ideas than he has made films.

I thought he considered his filmography nine because of Death Proof, not Kill Bill being split up

 

Some artist work best within boundaries, self imposed or otherwise. At his level of success he could have any dumb idea he came up with made, a 10 films limit puts a check on it amd ensures that he only works on what he thinks are his best most important films. If Barry Jenkins had a 10 films limit we wouldn't see him wasting himself on an 3D lion king sequel

The boundaries he set are part of his creative process, its not one size fits all hes doing what he thinks is the best for his own art. If you like his work so far its ignorant to attack the process that created it, to assume you know better than the person who made it.

Lynch is sitting on 10 films and hasnt made one since 2006

 

I'm guessing the recent Lynch praise was from the Twin Peaks reboot 6 years ago

 

Cameron also sitting on 9. When he gets to 11 in 2029 4 of them will be Avatar

 

If he stops at ten, that is fine. If his heart isn't in it, why would we want to watch something empty?

 

He could always just go back on his word and make an 11th years down the road lol, nobody will force him to stick with his word. He's like a rapper retiring, we all know you're coming back
