What's up with his vocals in the first verse of Same as Cash when he sings the word repair?

 

This rules. My favorite tracks are basically the first six, Same as Cash and Going to Dallas. Great, great record

 

The electric piano on "Ground Level" is so cool.

 

A lot of these arrangements feel like Goths with the energy of In League With Dragons, both albums I should revisit soon. Great stuff all around.

 

Does anybody else hear the weird vocal mess up in the first verse of Same as Cash or is it just YouTube Music

 

I definitely hear it too. Not really sure what happened or why that take was the one they went with.

 

It sounds intentional to me. Just a vocal flourish.

 

I'd be very curious to know, it almost takes me out of the song haha
