I've accepted that for me TMG are comfortably in "2-4 keepers per album" territory and have been for a while, but if he's gonna be this prolific I'm OK with that.

Great first single. Hope this album is a rocker all around.

 

Yeah I hope the album leans more into this energy than Going to Fennario, which is not a bad track but not exactly the vibe I'm hoping for

Someone on their team messed up and briefly uploaded the entire album to Bandcamp and people were able to download all of it so…it’s out there if you want to listen to the whole album now.

 

Digging the song but the omnipresent jingle bells are a little distracting

 

I hope they just say 'fuck it' and drop it digitally up front

 

Relatedly I finally decided to listen to this band after loving a handful of songs I've heard in passing over the years, got out ahead of everyone telling me to start with The Sunset Tree and fucking hell that is some album huh

 

Incredible and not even their best in my opinion.

 

Where the FUCK do I go next is the question. Tallahassee, All Hail West Texas or somewhere else?

Both great options if you're drawn to the acoustic side of things. If you want something more full band, Transcendental Youth (my personal favorite).

Edit: Tallahassee has plenty of full band stuff but I don't think of it as a band record in the same way as the later stuff.

 

Transcendental Youth was my intro and I still think it’s one of their best

 

We Shall All Be Healed, Goths and Bleed Out are all essential records as well
