Something about the stage directions for lyrics has always been my least favorite category of JD lyrics. I love Bully so i like the sound of this, but the first single was cooler imo.
I think this song choice for a single is very cool, and given what we know about this record, seems fitting. John rarely does stuff that resembles this so I really like it. They've rarely sounded like this, and they have a vast backlog. If it's not your thing that's cool but like... I don't think it's a hindrance.
Got my copy a few days early and this rules. Feels great to hear John and the band let loose. I'd love to see a tour where they rework some older songs in this style.
this fucking rules. i like most of their stuff but i am definitely wayyyyy more into this than at least the last couple albums (which i liked!). the energy is very much welcome. WAGE WARS GET RICH DIE HANDSOME
Yeah, this is definitely the highlight so far. Fantastic track that nails the action movie theme perfectly.
The last couple albums were just okay but based on the reviews here I am very stoked to listen to this!
This fucking rules. Guys on Every Corner is sooooo good, damn. Can't overstate how happy I am they made a record like this
Yeah this is freaking great. Much better than the last few which I enjoyed parts of, but this is the first one where I’ve enjoyed pretty much all of it.
I still think like a third of these songs are totally forgettable. But a much better ratio than the last few albums.
I've been listening to this a looot lately, and I decided to listen to Dark in Here today just to refresh myself a little bit. It really put my appreciation of this album into context a bit. I don't think anything on it's bad but, and most of you probably understand or agree, it can get a little slow sometimes. There's still songs I really like (basically the first 5 tracks) but it's a very subdued experience. It makes Bleed Out all the more fun and engaging. I also think the songs are incredibly solid aside from that. Bones Don't Rust is the only one that doesn't wow me and even then it's not doing anything offensive. It's just really fun to have this album from them, and it's nice because I've been on such a huge kick combing through a lot of his older material these last few months. Highlights for me are Guys on Every Corner, Training Montage, First Blood, Hostages and the title track.
