Man I wanted to like this, but it just really didn’t work for me

Yeah I finished this last night and wound up fairly disappointed. I didn’t know they were literally going to end this on a cliffhanger with a bunch of dangling plot threads. I guess I was expecting that it’d be another one and done like the others that have preceded it. I’ll watch another season if they make it, but I hope it’s more satisfying and conclusive overall than this was. Also didn’t like that some of the spooky goings on turned out to be Sandra yanking their chains.

lmfao yeah the reveal that one of the biggest scares was 'sandra scares the only queer person in the cast because she wants to make him believe in jesus' was wild. and they don't even really care and forgive her immediately!

I liked a lot of the character work in this show and honestly enjoyed almost all the anthology stories, but the overall Paragon arc was kind of terrible lmao

I like how after they stop Julia Jane, Stanton is like “oh yeah, she’s always breaking in here with her crazy antics, I’ve had her arrested four times”.

Yeah she just disappears up the elevator with a kooky smile and we don’t see her again and, yeah, Stanton’s like “Aw she’s always pulling that, the silly billy.”

yeah the lack of resolution/fallout to basically any of the cult stuff is wild. I guess the "twist" at the end is meant to explain some of that, but it just... doesn't?

very similar to the end of episode 8 gearing you up for some insane twist with Kevin and then it's like... nope, just sleepwalks every night down to a ritual site for no particular reason, and five people have seen this exact same ghost but don't worry about it, here's some romantic subplots instead

Coming off of Midnight Mass this was a big disappointment. On the plus side I finally got around to watching Hush, and while nothing ground breaking, it did keep me on the edge of my seat.

So this is a skip? The hype train was kinda slow

  17. Watch it! ...with lowered Flanagan expectations. Episode 7 is incredible. It kinda fizzles out after that and doesn't go anywhere, but Ruth Codd makes it worthwhile imo

yeah not surprising considering he jumped ship to amazon haha

kinda bummed about if I'm honest but I suppose netflix isn't any better

  23. Hah, dang. Disappointed but not surprised. I've been a big advocate for the show in this thread but now that it's confirmed canceled I can't in good conscience recommend it when it has left practically every major mystery or plot thread unresolved. And as much as I wanted it to continue it already killed off my favorite character so I'm not too bummed about it. Hopefully the kids soon move on to greater things

  24. BTW Flanagan has been killing it on Tiktok. Worth checking out
