That's kinda how I feel about Past Life Regression by Orbs. To me it's like what would happen if aliens came to earth and had to blend in by becoming artists lol. Especially the songs These People are Animals and El Burro

 

Revisiting Winds Poems right now this record is amazing.

 

Clear Moon is my favorite Mount Eerie album.

 

Same, easily. It’s prosbnly my favorite Phil Elverum album tbh. I am absolutely in love with A Crow Looked at Me though. Soria Moria is one of the best songs of the year for me

 

holy shit Clear Moon is AMAZING. all of the words I can think of to describe it kinda sound negative but it pulls everything off so well--like it's so gothic and dramatic that it's almost too much but it ends up being brilliant instead. reminds me of Ravedeath, 1972 in that way.

I've been listening to The Glow pt 2 a lot the last few weeks too. where should I go next? I already love A Crow Looked at Me (even if i can't bear to listen to it very much)

Been listening to wind poem a ton this week. Any similar albums/artists that play this sort of dark, lo-fi, droney, metal-adjacent style?

I was listening to music on shuffle today and I got two Mount Eerie songs and one Microphones song all in a row. Then I had to listen to A Crow Looked at Me. Small House from Song Islands Vol 2 is so damn good

Same. It’s crazy how good it is. A lot of times I get really overwhelmed when artists have multiple versions of songs but Pre Human Ideas somehow manages to work so well without taking away anything from the originals. Like, if I were to hear these versions live I would not complain, whereas with a lot of other groups I want the original version live

 

Assuming that is true, I wonder when an official announcement would be made.

 

I'm planning on going through the Mount Eerie discography over the next little bit from beginning to end. It seems like a challenging task, given all the releases he has put out. Here's the list I've got so far. Anything essential I am missing?

Perhaps add the Microphones album “Mount Eerie” if you really want to be a completionist

 

and the glow pt 2 obviously, if you haven’t listened

 

Yeah, I've heard that. Gonna do the Microphones discography at some point this year but split them bc it would just be overwhelming to do all his stuff at once.

 

tbh, as a whole, mount eerie’s discog is much better, though the glow stands out as a career-highlight. so you’re making the right move.
