Darkest Hour has had one of the weirdest career arcs in metalcore tbh. Put out some all timers, put out a few stinkers, return to form with Godless Prophets, and the latest one was...less than stellar. It's a fun case study tbh.

That self titled record was definitely interesting to say the least

 

is that the one that had djent riffs and clean singing that came out on sumerian? i'm gonna choose to erase that one from my memory because it was...terrible considering this band put out deliver us just seven years before. kris norris leaving them really killed the band's quality imo despite john and mike being perfectly capable.

 

That's what I was gonna say. Huge shift once kris left and personally I don't think they ever recovered. All the stuff since he left is passable but doesn't live up to undoing ruin or deliver us.
