New Mastodon is dope.

 

Solid black metal release from last month.

 

Some great black metal albums I only got around to listening to yesterday.

^^for fans of atmoblack/post rock.

The new White Death album is good too, vocals are nuts on that one.

 

Very much into the new Obituary and Fit for an Autopsy albums lately.

 

I just found Iron Reagan and they're my new favorite band.

 

New While She Sleeps record has already leaked.

 

Another good 2017 release if you're into Heavy Metal with an emphasis on fantasy:

 

been rediscovering Parkway Drive lately. Still a solid band.

 

Killing With a Smile is so good.

 

Lot of good new metal releases today. Memoriam, Pallbearer...a surprise album drop from Cryptic Void (ex-Insect Warfare). I'm happy.

 

Already up on that Pallbearer. Will need to check out those other two.

 

Saw them and Power Trip a couple weeks ago. Really good show and really good live bands. Both bands released some of my favorite records this year so far.

 

hello friends. looking for some new dope metal, been craving something like baroness but with a bit more speed. new pallbearer is dope as well but want something faster. any rec's?

Not really what you're describing but if you want something faster the new Power Trip record from a few weeks back is really fucking good. Don't know where you're at on thrashier stuff/harsher vocals based on what you posted though so maybe it isn't for you. Here's one of my favorites from the album:

What do you prefer in instrumental? Do you enjoy technicality or atmosphere? Complexity or minimalism?

None of this stuff is very heavy (for lack of a better word) but it's a starting point.
