We reach for the longest shadow

I did! Very happy with their set, I've liked them since The Funeral of God era, and it was a treat to finally see them live. Mentioned it in the Furnace Fest thread, but Carson from The Callous Daoboys came out and sang the breakdown for 5 Year Winter with Dan.

Kind of a different vibe than Bell Witch, but essential doom imo

Not normally very into techy or slammy shit, but this new Wormhole album is kinda sick.

Admittedly, they might have just won me over by listing Metroid, Doom, and Alien as influences.

since I'm too goddamn lazy to do THRASH METAL THVRSDAY every week or even every other week, I'm just gonna do a double post for the month on new stuff I've listened to. brace yourself, cuz this is a heavy slab of thrash straight to the dome.

First we have California thrashers Exmortus releasing their 6th album, Storm of Strings. If you need some straightforward tech thrash with a neoclassical edge akin to Revocation, look no further. Released Aug 25th.

How about some fun German black/thrash? Who can ever say no that? Enter Cruel Force, who released their third album on Aug 18th. FFO: Nocturnal, Desaster

For the last band of part 1, we're staying in Germany but shifting gears to something way different. The debut album from Taskforce Toxicator (what a name) is out and it's called Laser Samurai. I truly don't need to say anything more. Reminds me of Pest Control's album from earlier this year - super fun and tight thrash with a silly theme. That album art tho

    part two incoming

THRASH METAL THVRSDAY MONTHLY POST PART DEUX

Let's keep it going with some thrash/crossover from Seattle. Colony Drop is a fairly new band with one one demo to their name prior to their debut album, Brace for Impact, which came out Aug 25th. Super fun stuff, though I must admit I'm not too high on the vocals. The last song on the album is about Gundam, so that's sick

Probably my favorite album of all the ones I'm posting today, Danish thrashers Terminalist released their second album on Sept 8th. It reminds me of Vektor but without the shitty people, and the vox are much harsher. Good stuff.

Thrash from South America can never be a bad thing in my humble opinion. Look no further than Brazil's Farscape, who just released their 4th album last week. Fast and aggressive, reminiscent of Kreator
