This channel has a lot of great stuff:
    https://www.youtube.com/@TheDungeonSynthArchives

    I like Old Sorcery:

    This is a classic:

There's a surprisingly wide spectrum in Dungeon Synth. You can find stuff that feels metal-adjacent, stuff that sounds like a CRPG soundtrack, and stuff that is straight up happy sounding.

A lot of the stuff I've listened to is from the last few years, but this is a cool compilation of dungeon synth and dark ambient that might be helpful:

And here are a few I've enjoyed recently:

Night Sobbed a Potion Diseased, by Wallachian Cobwebs

And this might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I like it and it's a lot of fun. It's more of a metal influenced synthwave album than true dungeon synth (they call themselves "synth doom"):

Horrors Waiting In Line, by Vaisseau

I am sorry for being late with another edition of THRASH METAL THVRSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it's here now so shut up about it

First up is a five song 19 minute EP from Spanish thrashers Terminal Violence. It's their debut, came out in January. All you need to do is look at the album art and font and know you're in for a fun 20 minutes.

    Warhole, by Terminal Violence

And next (was this posted yet? probably) is the Judiciary album that came out last week. Crossover/thrash from Texas, as if I needed to say more:

And lastly, oh wow more crossover/thrash from Texas, how original. Is is something in the water down there? Anyways, same vocalist for Fugitive. Also came out last week:

Judiciary record is a little too "2005 Headbangers Ball" for me, will need some time to grow. They definitely leveled up on guitars. I think I like the crossover stuff better.

I know people will criticize Death For All because it's "not Death" but if you're a fan, I definitely recommend checking out a show. They played 20 songs (nearly 2 hours - which I'll admit, was a bit much) but all the guitar parts and vocals were SPOT on, not to mention watching Gene play drums and Digorgio slap da bass was pretty awesome.

i saw them in 2013 when they played all of human. it was actually pretty sick.

The full thing is out at the end of April, but the song that's out now rules:

    https://listen.20buckspin.com/album/shambhallic-vibrations

    From the Bandcamp description:
A tale of a journey eastward in search of enlightenment and what may lie beyond . . . Offering a deluge of jarringly brutal metal, overwhelming progressive physicality and instinctively accomplished memorability inspired by Buddhism, the East and esotericism.

Ensconced in mysticism, the 5 track nearly 30 minute pilgrimage advances unflinchingly through insane crushing riffs, bewildering solos, tranquil acoustics and illuminated ascendent melodies. “Spirit Body and the Seeing Self” [the track available now] details the start of the journey, self analysis, and the attempts at launching oneself into said “beyond”.

I'm going Saturday because I have a punch card to the venue and can get in for "free" but yeah the setlist is kinda weak. Revocation and Skeletal Remains should make up for it though.

I love VoM’s new artwork for the upcoming album but damn, I really don’t understand how the same guy that wrote albums like The Common Man’s Collapse, [id], and Eclipse is the one making Anime Bro Metal now.

I was like "Why does this Judiciary album sound so good", and then I see Will Putney mixed/mastered it, haha

Yeah Marc's riffs on the tracks so far are kinda all over the place, with not much melody or groove. Hopefully we get some bangers in the rest of the album

I feel like Will Putney’s work is universally acclaimed on this site, which makes me feel like I’m going insane, because I hate how his production/mixing sounds.

Not a fan of his style, or do you think he's objectively bad at mixing and mastering?

hard to describe, it’s just not for me. Everything sounds excessively beefed up, drums in particular.

good example is the new Vein record (which I love) sounds a bit muddy, but the Fleshwater done by Ballou sounds fantastic in comparison.
