Bell is too important to their sound, Dino really should let this band die already. But I get wanting to keep the $$$ going.

Cannibal Corpse are legit one of the best death metal bands ever IMO.

Eh, I'm always willing to give a new iteration of a band a chance, especially if this guy sounds relatively close to Bell.

The new Wounds of Recollection is a pleasant record if you're into blackgaze

deicide, morbid angel, demilich, sinister, incantation, immolation.

cc are the most successful dm band but i probably wouldn't even put them in the top 20 quality wise lol

I interrupt your inane death metal band rankings convo to bring you another edition of THRASH METAL THVRSDAY

First is an album from Swedish tech death thrashers Carnosus. This came on shuffle after I was listening to the Tithe album and it fkin ruled. The vox remind me of Archspire (at times) and the riffs are Revocation-ish. Just came out on the 10th:

And I'll admit I'm getting a little lazy and posting a couple classics for these next two, but it's moving week and I can't be arsed to put more effort into it, so enjoy a few old cuts.

Xentrix, UK thrash from the 80's that I somehow missed. They put out 4 albums from 1989-1996, disappeared for over 20 years, and have released two albums since 2019. Here is the opener from their 1989 debut, reminiscent of Testament:

And another classic from Annihilator. I was never super into them because of the vocals, but they always go hard on the riffs:
