Man the newest Neurosis album is so good. Really glad I'm getting into them. A Shadow Memory is my fav.

 

How'd I let the new meshuggah slip by me?! It's so nasty, these guys can do no wrong. I'm already liking it better than koloss, though that record has some of my favorites from them. Demiurge is top 5 for me. But By the Ton is just insane!

Has anyone in here heard of Dreamshade? I guess they just signed a deal with Artery. Have a sound similar to Killswitch Engage or In Flames. They are actually really good.

Haha! Well add it in! I pretty much listen to every facet of metal so if I discover a new band I'll spread the word.

 

There's a regular metal thread for that kind of stuff. This covers the more experimental sub genres

Just heard a song by the band Mustard Gas and Roses. Really interesting. It's a mix of doom, ambient and black metal.

 

Black Tomb, by Black Tomb

Black Tomb is a pretty rad doom band that sounds like a hybrid of Cough and Electric Wizard. Their record is free to download too.

Zao was the one band I couldn't get into during my metal core days circa 2004. I just need to spin their discography, I know I'll love it.
