Got a $5 ticket so I went to see Shattered Sun open for Evergrey last night. Didn't stay for Evergrey, but I got there in time to catch Tulip's set and they were REALLY REALLY good.

    shittiest taste 2k18

I am so ungodly behind on releases since I don't have my old groundskeeping job to listen to music at anymore but all I'll say is that the new Elvenking and Shadow Of Intent absolutely slap in entirely different ways.

Man I could never do war metal. Just a suffocating literal wall of sound.

i dig it, but not as much as exercises in futility or with hearts toward none. there are times it sounds more like kriegsmachine than mgla, but darkside's drum performance is as top notch as always. i have no idea how he plays as well as he does.

Revisited Winds of Plague this week. Fun band, I remember being terrified of getting hurt when I saw them at age 17 haha.

Don't really listen to much of that stuff anymore, but I really liked Decimate the Weak when it was released.

Always preferred Bleeding Through over these guys but enjoyed a few of the records. Thought it was funny when Johnny “Plague” was a guest on MADE.

He shows up around the 3 minute mark.

Just got into Windhand and really dig them. Any similar bands? Male female fronted?

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard or M.O.D. tomorrow night?

I'm leaning towards M.O.D. since I can't remember the last time they played here, but King Gizzard is right down the street and starts earlier, so I'm hoping I can swing both.

There was someone posting about having seen King Gizzard recently, but I can't find the post (guess it was in another thread) but does anyone happen to know set times or about what time that show ended?

Or any suggestions one way or another between the two shows?

There is a male/female fronted epic heavy metal band that released an album earlier this year called Tanith. Different genre but same vocal approach.

I'm new to King Gizzard, so this may be way off base, but I've been listening to the new record and it reminds me a lot of old White Zombie.

Cough (they’re from Richmond as well), Blackwater Holylight, Subrosa, King Woman all share some similarities.
