New Metallica song ain't bad. Better than the last one, though that's not saying much.

 

Anyone like War of Ages? That Eternal Champion cover reminded me of them. I've liked almost everything they put out.

Ah. Memories. That's a band name I haven't heard in a long time. I actually went out and bought Price of the Wicked after hearing this song on Headbanger's Ball back in the day.

I need to give it a listen again to see if this album actually holds up how I remember it.

 

I love that album. They put one out a couple years back called Eternal and it's pretty good as well, even though they sing now.

 

I've been trying to have people hook me up in the does anybody have thread with more from the genre. Pretty much all I've been listening to lately from the scene is Sleep,Baroness, and Thou. I've asked for someone to hook me up in there with Pyramids, Daughters, Show Me a Dino etc.

So I dl'd new Neurosis. I heard their album Through Silver in Blood is good. What else of their work is "essential"?

Don't know how many people are aware but the DOOM (2016) Soundtrack is brutally heavy and just got put on Spotify.
Industrial, with strings, electronica sounding instrumental metal

 

Just found out that Sleep is coming to town in January. May have to grab tickets.

I still haven't finished the game, school keeps me busy. But I can agree that the soundtrack is awesome.

 

After listening to the Eternal Champion album nonstop for 3 days, I can say that it's one of my favorites of the year so far. I don't ever listen to epic heavy metal and this album is amazing. I only wish it were longer. The two songs they released before the album came out are the first two songs on the album, and there are also two instrumentals. So all in all there were only 4 songs I hadn't heard, but they're great so it's not a big deal.

Also they apparently have a very similar "sister" band called Sumerlands in the same style of music and it's good too:

 

Summerlands is pretty great. I'm digging it. Still need some more time with Eternal Champion though.
