Kataklysm, Exhorder, and Krisiun playing in Sept on a thursday but I hate the venue they're at. Should I go or pass what u think?

I'd probably go, but I go to everything. What's your issue with the venue?

 

Just looked and that tour is coming here on a Wednesday, but I dig the venue. I'll be going.

 

I'm leaning towards going. Usually the sound ain't great and it's a couple hours away. First class problems I know but like I said I'll most likely attend just wondering if anyone has seen any of those bands n if they're good live. Thanks!

 

A couple hours away? Ouch. That might deter me a little.

I saw both Kataklysm and Exhorder in 2011 (separately) and they were both great. I wonder if Exhorder has any new material.

 

I wish y'all posted like this when I am at work and not looking for washing machines at Home Depot on the weekend. That way I'd be able to contribute to the snark more. ):

André Matos, former vocalist of Brazilian power metal band Angra passed today. :(

 

Sic is one of the best album openers. So good.

 

My favorite singer is dead ...I'm pretty gutted about this.

I never got to see him live either (should have in 2009, but the Work Visa's took too long to clear for them to play at ProgPowerUSA after being confirmed).

I'm likely going to spill my guts about this in my blog tonight.

 

Ohmygod these are beautiful.

 

I can't believe I only discovered these guys recently. They're pretty much tailored to exactly what I like most in heavy music these days. It sounds so fucking feral and grim. I guess now that Totem Skin is dead this fills the blackened sludge-grind section of my heart that was empty for a long time.

 

Also, another local Aussie band. It's blackgaze, but super melodic and with lots of clean vocals. Cheesy in the best way but musically on-point.
