It’s interesting they refer to it as “Sclerosis” when it’s really MS or Multiple Sclerosis.

Either way, very sad and a horrible disease to live with.

Epic Russian doom album from 1995 that just got a proper reissue this week. This is pretty gnarly stuff especially when you consider it was recorded 23 years ago.

Their newest, Love in Shadow is a pretty realized version of their vision as a band.
What One Becomes is great as well, though you can tell they were still developing their sound. Rigid Man is probably my favorite song by them.

I’d say what one becomes is the best jumping off point.

I have come to love and appreciate Audiotree as much as I do Tiny Desk. It makes me wonder what it would've been like if things like that existed in the mid 2000's and what bands i'd see on there.

Sclerosis is just a generic pathological term while Multiple Sclerosis is a distinct disease process.

In today's list of things swboyd missed from earlier in 2018, here's another stoner sludge gem from Holy Roar.

    a literal succubitch

I can't believe I haven't talked about this yet but I guess life caught up with me. I saw Cattle Decapitation, Visceral Disgorge, Krisiun and Suffocation live in late October. It was fucking awesome. Concert notes:

    - Travis Ryan really does enjoy playing catch with his own spit. He sounded fucking amazing, of course.

    - Krisiun were also every bit as furious as I could have hoped for. Probably never going to get the chance to see them again so I'm glad I did.

    - Visceral Disgorge's tour bus has a massive name-plate spot that simply reads "THE SLAMBULANCE" and that got a mighty chuckle out of me.

    - Suffocation are one of those bands that I've learned sound way better live than on record to me.

I also witnesses two dudes doing what looked like an Irish folk jig with one another for two seconds on the edge of the pit and almost got knocked over by a Wilson Fisk-looking motherfucker. I attended the concert with a friend and her parents which sounds like a disaster but they're a rare example of one big metal family and it was hilarious. All-around, a great night.
