You lucky bastard. I'd especially kill to see Fit For An Autopsy and nothing else. Good lord I hate living where I do when it comes to tours. Nobody comes here.

really bummed that Erlend is leaving Kvelertak, hard to imagine the band without him up front. But, I trust them to replace him with someone who knows what they're doing, and I'm still looking forward to a new record.

This will be my second time seeing Trivium in the last year just to see Fit For An Autopsy open.

I'm lucky to live in a big city with lots of shows plus the free time to go to a lot right now.

I've very recently got into Alcest - literally the last few weeks - and they're great. Can't believe I've never heard them before.

I have nothing fancy to say for today's THRASH METAL THVRSDAY other than it is THRASH METAL THVRSDAY

    So here's some stuff

    Fun crossover/thrash from the 80's. Self-proclaimed "beercore" :

Some faster harder stuff in the vein of Razor/Slayer/Dark Angel:

And more lesser-known 80's thrash (which I guess is today's theme):

Also HBIH has a new column on thrash that I look forward to keeping up with:

Into the Pit – A Thrashy Introduction

This is really cool. Former members of Agalloch and Giant Squid. Elements of black, death, doom, prog, and sludge metal.

While I agree with the sentiment he's espousing in his open letter (I wouldn't trust anything Matt Tuck says about metal at this point - BFMV hasn't put out a banger since Scream Aim Fire), I like how he's also taking the opportunity to promote bands on his label as examples of what's going right in metal at the moment sans LLNN. Not to be too nitpicky though because those mol and Conjurer records are pretty damn solid.
