I never think of Killswitch as a “famous” band but I can see why people would refer to them as such.

 

I like lambgoat! Though I guess you're referring to the comments section. Comments sections just about everywhere for metal are full of cavemen. I prefer here.

 

I shouldn't say famous I mean more like...if you like metal, you probably should've listened to these guys at least once.

 

Alive or Just Breathing is a seminal album. If you haven't heard it, you should.

ive been listening to iowa all day getting my hopes up for the new slipknot album whenever it comes out lol. im not familiar with anything after vol 3 so i dont even know if theyre still good or not

 

I'll defend Machinehead, don't make me do it.

 

All hope is gone is my second favorite after self titled.

As for Slipknot .5 was just ok and All Hope is Gone had some jams on it. I'll always enjoy their non-radio rock stuff.

 

Iowa > ST > AHIG > Vol 3 > .5 (The Gray Chapter or whatever the fuck its called)

Saw the Decibel Mag tour tonight. Here are some various thoughts about it:

-Khemmis is the best doom band on the planet right now. And I will fight you on that point. They played a song off the new album coming out in June. If the quality of that song is any indication of how the album will be, it's going to be my album of the year.

-Myrkur was rad. Not really my style in general, but she has some pipes and a solid backing band.

-WITTR were fun. I need to listen to them more, but I zone out to 10+ minute black metal songs. The new album material sounded especially good live.

-Enslaved were decent. Not my thing to be honest, but they put on a good show.

 

im so pissed i missed that here last week, thats such a sick lineup

 

Killswitch was critical in getting me to cross over to heavy music. The End of Heartache and strangely enough The Artist In The Ambulance were the albums that basically warmed me up to harsh vocals and riffs.

 

I will fight somebody over the Slipknot discography myself. They haven't put out a bad album IMO and even though lots of people were lukewarm on .5: The Gray Chapter, I thought it was great. Slipknot has a ton of bangers if nothing else.

 

I listened to Hunted for the first time this month, it’s astonishing

 

Slipknot is alright but I never really understood the rabidness of their fanbase. Good for them though. I'll admit they do have some bangers though.

 

The first Slipknot album is ridiculously good and I still listen to it on a semi regular basis. I wasn’t as keen on Iowa but it did have some bangers. Vol 3 was really good too but then they lost me again after that, still they had a few good tracks here and there across the last 2 albums.

 

every day this week the first album ive put on when i wake up has been nightmare logic

 

It really is such a good album, these guys are set to take over the planet
