    Truth ^

Tho I'd argue Full of Hell has transcended hardcore at this point. Trumpeting Ecstasy is a goddamn masterpiece amalgam of death, powerviolence, black metal, and grindcore.

I agree with this. They are beyond being a hardcore band.

After they put out their split together, Code Orange continually gets worse and worse while Full of Hell continually gets better and better.

Also the best record Topshelf ever put out but that's an aside.

    death metal supremacy infantry unit

The bit where the vocalist is repeatedly howling "MAN WILL ALWAYS FAIL" makes my blood boil in the most empowering way, I love that goddamn part.

MA can be useful but is not to be trusted entirely when it comes to classification of genre and what is metal and what isn't. Especially when it comes to -core because where that's concerned it really seems to depend on what moderator is online at the time of a deathcore or metalcore band's submission as to whether or not they get admitted to the site. I get that some -core is more punk than metal but there really doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it seeing as they refused Infant Annihilator and yet they took fucking Whitechapel of all things.

Hopefully going to see Mammoth Grinder tomorrow.

Anyone familiar with the openers? (Cleric (Dallas), Skourge, End Times)

MA is such a strange place. Great for info but the neckbeards that run the thing are insufferable.

Before he became my favorite rapper, Robb Flynn played some thrash.

tesseract was always one of the least boring djent bands. that's about all i got. *shrug*

go see astronoid though cause they're worth shelling out for the price of a ticket alone. that sad, that tour is in town the same day as the power trip run with sheer mag et al., but i can't say no to seeing power trip in a ~200 cap room on a friday night.

Tesseract is justifiably held in high regard but I surprisingly had the toughest time getting into them among the djent bands.

I should revisit some of those bands. After the burial was one of those bands that changed how I listened to music.

Power Trip (especially in a small room) > Almost everything else

  20. Their songs tend to be a lot more ambient and drawn out compared to other bands from that scene, so I could see them being tougher to get into. My appreciation for them tends to build the more I listen to them instead of being as immediate.

Side note about ATB. I saw them at Warped Tour years ago, and some dude was about to inadvertently karate chop my friend in the face so I blocked it with my arm and ended up getting a nice bruise ha.

it's at the same venue that I saw nails and full of hell play at last year...the layout is a big odd so the pit area is particularly small. not sure how power trip is going to turn out, but if i use that show as an indicator, i may die. and i'd be okay with it.

Just don't get them confused with the other Sabbat, which is also a thrash band (from Japan). This is the UK one lol
