And also not forget that the incomparable Full of Hell is also playing that show. :)

did they play any new material? how were Vermin Womb and Less Art (if they were on the show)?

    No Fun. Not Ever.

They were an opener for the last Dillinger show in Michigan, and fuuuuuuuck were they good.

No new material. Vermin Womb and Less Art were both sick.

Late response but fuck me, I relate to this. I can't even begin to describe my dislike for the general metalhead populace with their apathetically bigoted bullshit - especially since I'm openly queer. It really sucks because it means that the number of communities I can go to to check out new shit without stress and annoyance is greatly reduced.

I play a dangerous game with having Iron Bonehead's Facebook page followed and being on the New Standard Elite forums.

Also, this shit goes hard as fuck. It sounds like a lost Anaal Nathrakh track and it's great.

I want to like this album a lot, but there are just so many points where the dynamics of it lead me to nod off from it for a bit. It might get better upon repeat listens, but that's gonna be difficult because it's just too damn long. Blame grindcore for killing my attention span when it comes to music.

I'm grateful that the few metalheads I do associate with and consider friends are fairly progressive people which I consider a godsend considering I see metalheads who I have mutual friends with on Facebook post shit that ranges from ignorant but still innocuous to moderately bigoted. With that being said, I still go to a fair amount of metal shows by myself just because my tastes don't overlap with them. For example, I'm headed to the Aura Noir/Merciless show at Beat Kitchen this weekend solo but I'm not letting that stop me from seeing two foreign touring bands that will likely never come back to the US.

I am impressed you can be on those communities though and be able to grin and bear it with some of the shit that's posted or shared there. I have enough trouble mentally justifying my liking of Bolzer (swastika tatto issues) and White Death (NSBM connections) because the music is so good. I guess if you're just following it to keep up with the news, but again, those forums are so toxic. I can't imagine spending a significant amount of time positing there.

NSE's forums aren't so bad. They avoid politics mostly entirely so it's tolerable - I just get the vibe that most folks on there are most certainly apathetic conservatives. That and the one guy who has the vocabulary of a middle schooler when it comes to homophobia (seriously, asshole, it's 2017 and you're 24 years old, why are you still using "gay" as an insult?).

Iron Bonehead, however, promotes NS bands on occasion so I really have to take a deep breath when I see that shit. And absolutely don't look at the comments, especially with shit like Nyogthaeblisz.

I do follow them in the interest of new music because I have the unfortunate circumstance of loving war metal and black/death which isn't too-too popular on r/Metal (which is pretty safe as far as metal communities go), and brutal-death which Shreddit pretty much hates, lol.

So TL;DR it's not much a grin and bear it, it's moreso grit my teeth and laugh at stupidity whenever I can. And if somebody comes at me, to either roll it off my back with a joke or make it crystal-fucking-clear I don't wanna hear it.

They were so incredible when I saw them a couple months back. I think most of their material in that set was from Mass IV or V

Show last night was great. I ended up staying all the way through to Cattle Decap's second encore even though I don't really listen to them.

Artificial Brain was great. The vocalist is this huge guy with a heavy Long Island accent. He was wearing these weird goggles, like a night vision kit or something with some weird scopes/lights on the frames. Idk. He was pretty animated and at one point pretended the microphone cord was his guts spewing out of his stomach lol

Full of Hell was intense. I could not stop watching the drummer, that dude is a machine. I moved upstairs to the bar for them because I knew I'd die if I got in the pit lol. Best part was their cover of "You Suffer"

I think I enjoyed Revocation the most. Their set was really tight and David is an amazing guitarist. Glad I got to see them.

As I mentioned before, Cattle Decap isn't really my things but they put on a hell of a show. They had the eerie lights and smoke machines and these massive banners, it was quite the spectacle.

Venue is kinda whatever, but I still had a great time.

these dudes seriously deliver every time. granted, some CC albums are better than others but there's really not one bad or even sub-par record in their catalog.

If I'm allowed a late pass on this, this release is absolutely beautiful instrumental experimental jazz metal (I don't think I got that genre tag right but OH WELL).

good God this is awful. I've seen those shirts/hoodies before (including the other night) and I just marvel at how people think it's cool to wear them in public

Goatwhore has a shirt that says "I was Fucked By Satan" and I see dudes wearing it, which is strange...

That I Declare War shirt is pretty lame, but it's not half as bad as some of the Attila shirts I've seen grown men wear in public.
