same here. I might agree with their political viewpoints in general but the way they handle it feels so fucking dorky. Like, it's almost performative in how "look how woke we are, guys!!!" they are about it. Not to mention they're basically the TMZ of the metal community.

Yeah. When you serious tout "We're so metal, guyzzz!!!1" as your shtick, it's ludicrous. LoL. Their site used to be a part of my daily routine, but as the content shifted away from reviews/new music/some editorials to articles about what Corey Taylor thinks about everything and shitty gimmicky video content, they lost me. Plus the metal they cover typically doesn't align with my tastes as much any more...gimme Invisible Oranges or No Clean Singing over them any day of the week.

 

Not to triple post, but reading some of the comments sections on Facebook for articles from metal sties about Decapitated being formally charged reminds me why I typically don't get along well with most metalheads. Redpilled archaic ideologies straight out of the r/incel playbook with shit about victim blaming and false accusations....Ooof.

 

Same here. They were kinda irritating back then too, imo, but it's gotten exponentially worse over the past two or three years. Definitely a much bigger fan of Invisible Oranges/No Clean Singing as well.

Not surprised tbh. Metal fans (online anyway) tend to be fucking imbeciles. Most of the people I've met IRL are cool, though. But when it comes to the online community, there's definitely a ton of shitheads. Facebook comment sections are always trash though lol. So I guess that multiplied by sad, angry dudebros just makes it even worse.

I can't rationalize listening to them anymore. There's no doubt how much they impacted tech death through the years but whatever...fuck this.

 

this is just silly lol, I knew some of the dudes from metalsucks and metal injection they seemed like fine guys but on the douchier end. I still check them out weekly because they have a decent list of releases, I don't read anything else there though.

Oh and the recs from the black dahlia murder singer, if he still does that, are legit.

Oh and LostProphets because FUCK, after knowing what that repulsive piece of shit was up to I don't see how anyone could still listen to them, even if he is only just one guy and there's nothing to suggest the other members were complicit.
