Wow! A girl in a Grind/Death metal band?! Hell yeah! AND she is the lead guitarist? Mind blown!

 

You say that like you're surprised. There's a bunch of solid death/grind bands out there with female members (some might be former) who aren't just vocalists. Off the top of my head:

-Bolt Thrower
-Derketa
-Aborted
-Enabler (fuck Jeff Lohrber)
-XAbruptX
-Mortals
-Extremity
-Vastum
-Castrator

Maybe this is just the kind of thing I don't really pay much attention that much anymore? IDK. It's not as uncommon as a sight as you might think...especially as you start to get into the grindcore side of things.

 

I'm not surprised. I'm saying it's cool to see.

I don't know if I hate that or the idea of Tim starting a new band which will gain a cult following for the "taboo" edginess of liking a band founded by a secondhand attempted murderer more.

 

I have a hard time believing he's gonna be able to find anyone willing to associate with him at this point.

Now that's a name I have not heard in a long time. That album was really good. They were the first show I went to when I moved to Seattle.

 

on second thought, maybe they don't play anymore because they broke all their instruments at the end of that video lol

Wow I saw them open for Fear Before The March of Flames in 08/09? Thought they were good. Haven't heard of them since.

 

Yeah I dunno. They put out Tree of Tongues in 2012 and it was pretty solid and they even did an Audiotree session, which was cool, and then they disappeared lol

 

I loved that the drummer was the screamer

 

Yeah, I always like it when the drummer is multi-faceted. Bands like A Skylit Drive(RIP) and Code Orange do it as well.

 

Much as I still love Mastodon and the direction they've gone in, part of me still low-key wants them to do another full on sludge album, or even something like Blood Mountain. I doubt it'll ever happen though.
