Rise could get them more distribution and better tours. They totally deserve this.

I honestly could never get into Sevendust, just never clicked with me. Cool that they signed with Rise though.

I've got the urge to dive into the complete discography of the following two bands: The Black Dahlia Murder or Iron Maiden. I listened to TBDM a lot in high school. They were integral in getting me into metal and my crappy band used to cover their early stuff. However, I've never listened to anything past their second album. As for Maiden, I've only ever listened to The Number of the Beast and Powerslave during my listening experiment way back, and I feel that that is unforgivable.

Also got the urge to dive into Radiohead because I've never listened to one of their albums, but that's another thread..

I mentioned in the hardcore thread that it sounds like older integrity mixed with some strife.

Only regarding black Dahlia...their best stuff is on later albums. You'll definitely feel nostalgic to the older stuff but each if their subsequent albums is an improvement on what came before. I might give their discography another listen now that you got me thinking of it haha.

Man I gotta disagree that every album is a subsequent improvement. So far they haven't topped Ritual, even though the last two were both very solid records. I'd probably say that Ritual and Deflorate are their best two releases, followed closely by Everblack. Not sure how I'd rank the rest.

I can see that. There's a couple of stagnant albums and some songs can get redundant. I still think that the albums overall are getting better but this is also a band that really peaked in their song writing like three albums in lol.

The most recent album is probably my favorite of theirs and I think their most well written.

I've never really listened to them before, but the new Decapitated is pretty damn good.

That and Power Trip are probably my two favorite heavy releases of the year so far (not counting Jane Live) But I need to spend more time with Ex Eye, King Woman, and Pallbearer.

Took me long enough to get on this one, but the new Havukruunu album is great. Black/Folk in the vein of Moonsorrow, though not as dense (but still amazing).
