First Junius song and album since 2017... I used to pray for times like these!! Sotera Tracklist: Disciple The Oracle Summon Her Initiatrix Darkwater Serpent Lucifera Scythian Release Date: June 26, 2026
Gratefully remembered they existed this week. Really into the way they string lyrics together - IDK how many other folks in the metal scene are lyrics enjoyers but I definitely am, the way ETID put weird ass concepts into something coherent always gets to me.
Was an eye opener to me when I was 16 and shaped a lot of the future music I got into. Beautiful album.
I remember seeing an ad for Hot Damn! when it was coming out that said "any metal head or hardcore kid's wet dream" so I picked it up without knowing anything about the band. I didn't know what I was hearing the first couple of times and almost gave up but back then when you paid $18 for a CD you stuck with it. I remember the 5th time through it clicking and hitting me like a ton of bricks. Definitely introduced me to more chaotic subgenres. One of the best to ever do it.
Big release day, again. new Archspire sounds like a slight levelling up to me, which is really saying something.
new immolation is certainly a new immolation album. i don't think i've liked a thing from these guys since close to a world below, but i keep on trying
Hot damn! was on constant rotation for me freshman year of college. Gutter phenomenon was definitely the better album objectively but 19 year old me hearing a bunch of skinny dudes from buffalo scream "that's what you get for fucking with us" was peak art.
