I'm glad these bands are getting their shine, I just wonder what those numbers will look like in a year.
always, always, always here for more Nile love. I've come to accept that they are my favorite metal band.
A second Converge record in one year?? Converge and the Lizard Wizard moment?? CONVERGE to release new album 'Hum of Hurt' in June
Trying to get my partner into metal and I got him to start digging Alcest which is cool even though you can argue they are just a blackened Slowdive... What are some other bands I could ease him into the heavier aspects of music without going into the more intense stuff just yet? He usually listens to Linkin Park and early 2000s pop punk and 90s radio hits so I'm surprised he Alcest as much as he did. Should I maybe show him some more blackgaze or some post metal that has both harsh vocals and clean singing?
Maybe Pelican, Russian Circles, ISIS if harsh vocals are a barrier. If they like Linkin Park, Deftones might be a good bride into heavier stuff.
Cave In maybe? Start them with like Jupiter or Antenna then you can progressively phase in the heavier material
I made my post because Annihilation of the Wicked was too intense for him haha. To his credit he made it through a few songs and not give up right away on Cast Down the Heretic. There is hope for him yet.
Actually Epica night be a good idea so he still gets some harsh vocals exposure. Nightwish too of the harsh vocals are too much. Thanks
