Conversely, I am not a fan of any of the support acts on the Darkest Hour at all other than Filth Is Eternal, but they're not on the RVA date so I'm probably gonna skip this one because the new single did nothing for me.

The last time I saw Darkest Hour, the support was Ringworm, Rotten Sound, and Rivers of Nihil during the Godless Prophets tour...that was a perfect lineup for me at the time minus Rivers of Nihil which weren't bad, but not my thing. It's all downhill from there New Found Glory style, baby.

Darkest Hour had three damn near perfect albums to me from 2003-2007 in my teen years so they'll always hold a special place for me, but unless they're pulling out an Undoing Run set again, I'm probably gonna pass on seeing them again unless the support is up my alley...after seeing them 4(?) times over the years, I think it's enough.

Off the top of my head for the purposes of my own amusement, stream of consciousness:
Thrash and Burn tour 2008 at The Norva in Norfolk
At a livestock show arena in Harrisonburg in 2010 with As I Lay Dying pre-hitman status, The Human Abstract, and Protest the Hero IIRC
Indoor skate park in VA Beach in 2011 with Born of Osiris and As Blood Runs Black
Aforementioned show in 2017 at Reggies in Chicago

Good times.

 

Godless Prophets is top tier for new material

 

I've seen them once, in like 2005. Was supposed to see them in Seattle at some point but bad weather forced them to skip the date.

 

Saw them last September at a fest. They were fine. Drummer is great
