I've really been missing Trevor Strnad's The Obituarist blog panel so as of late I've been kicking around the idea of starting a recommendation blog based on my favored pastime of rooting around on the Metal Archives in the band lists of countries from around the world (especially ones less thought of in terms of metal) for music. Anybody who's done this sort of thing have any ideas where I could host a blog like that at? I tried using Wix but honestly found it to be a bit of a pain in the ass.

Local band to me in my early days of shows. Super talented and signed to Ironclad Recordings, Trevor Phipps of Unearth’s label.

 

I got really into Alcest almost exactly a year ago, all the albums are awesome, I would say prioritize Kodama, Ecalles de Lune and Spiritual Instinct.

The only thing you need to know maybe is Shelter is the oddball, it's like a very chill almost acoustic type record. Neil Halstead from Slowdive is on a track. Still great, just different from the others.

I definitely recommend Opale with Alcest’s discography, really solid shoegaze album

$100 for a record filled with liquid. Nice memento, but I'm gonna pass on that in a heartbeat from a listener's perspective. I don't want to risk it splashing all over the table if something breaks.

Though I bet the Discogs prices on that variant will be bananas.
