Really digging that Wytch Hazel album from last year

 

Yeah this Frozen Soul album is real caveman shit

 

This album is gonna be so good

 

we need more bands exploring power electronics / noise with death metal

Lo-fi guttural deathgrind. This + Frozen Soul is gonna make for a real ignant Friday since I'm stuck in quarantine...

 

Quarantine?! You alright?

 

Yep. We're all good here. My wife tested positive for COVID this past weekend, but has been improving steadily since. She hasn't had a fever at all, but has had the other typical symptoms (cough, sore throat, etc.) I've had two negative tests including one on Wednesday. I've been asymptomatic otherwise. My 15 month old has been his normal self and relatively asymptomatic other than the standard stuff you'd expect from a kid his age who'd been in daycare with other infants. We didn't want to subject him to a COVID test if he didn't have bad symptoms.

We got exposed at a family gathering of 10 people on Xmas Eve. Half the people who were there have since tested positive. We thought it'd be safe. Turns out we were wrong and chose poorly.

 

Wishing her a smooth recovery and that you all stay healthy.

 

Appreciate it. Everyone in my immediate family circle is good (parents were both negative, brother tested positive but is recovering). A member of my extended family who was there has been feeling rough (immunocompromised cancer survivor), but is apparently improving.

We're just pissed at ourselves that we'd been taking this pandemic seriously, and the one time we let our guard down this happens. But it's a lesson, and we deserve whatever ridicule we get at this point...at least I'm not gonna argue with it.

 

My best friend's father just passed from it. My wife and I are trying our best to avoid people (aside from buying essentials)

 

I don't think you are alone. I know a lot of people people that broke during the holidays. It's hard to break tradition.

 

We're quarantining now too, but more out of caution. We quarantined for 2 weeks after Thanksgiving and then drove to spend most of December through New Year's Day with my in-laws (who also quarantined before our arrival). Then on Christmas Eve and through that weekend my BIL and his family came too, but we didn't know beforehand that they had not been as careful (went to see Santa and other socializations, albeit outdoors, without masks) so we're staying away from others.

Frozen Soul is the second coming of Bolt Thrower than I didn't know I needed until now. Holy fuck, this album is amazing.

 

Very proud of the DFW heavy music scene.

 

A Xibalba/Frozen Soul house show was in the works before the pandemic.

Frozen Soul has a lot of crossover appeal for sure.

 

I did get to see Frozen Soul play in a tiny ass kitchen once and the light fixture got knocked out of the ceiling during their Mortician cover

 

I think Hatebreed should do a headliner and take all the above bands on tour. There won’t be a building left after the show is over.
