Hell yeah Voivod always needs more love

 

Voivod can be hit or miss for me but they're undeniable giants.

 

I realllllly like Peace Sells, musically I find it flawless. Good Mourning/Black Friday might be my favorite metal song.

 

Svalbard is making my eoty list difficult. Listen To Someone and What Was She Wearing? are two of my favs of the genre this year.

I'm scrambling to listen to all the stuff I missed from the year and there's just too much lol

 

this was a really good year for music oddly enough. way too much to catch up on but I've been liking most of what I've been checking out from various lists

 

Someone mentioned earlier that 2021 will be a great year for metal and hardcore...my gut tells me that doom and sludge may also hit some new peaks.

 

That would be me and hell yes!

Aside from Corona virus, this year seems to have taken more (admired) celebrities than any other year in recent memory.

 

Listened to this band on a whim last week from a buddie's Facebook "Hey listen to this song" type post. Usually I pass those posts right on by but this bud has a solid taste in music compared to mine. The song he posted was Constance. I listened. A bit boring until the ending. I was interested. Then I listed to something else by Spiritbox. Then something else. Now I've been listening to everything available. Oops now I'm slightly obsessed. This whole SiriusXM session is awesome. Oddly I realize I watched the video to Belcarra earlier in the year and wasn't feeling it at all. Maybe the vibe of the video. That song rips. Strange how things change.

 

They popped up on some of my daily Spotify mixes a lot earlier this year and I never really bought in. Then I heard Holy Roller and the rest of their catalog clicked HARD.

 

Starting my 2021 with some Sumac! What One Becomes just slaps so hard still.

Holy shit 41 is so young. Really sad to see, he definitely had his demons. I still love Follow the Reaper.
