So I’m totally stealing this from the sites Facebook page but would you guys be interested in sharing playlists?

    Rules
    -One Band
-Songs you think are pivotal for people to hear
    -No more than 15 songs
-Must include a song from each album
    -no eps or live tracks
-can include a breakdown if you wish on why you picked each song

Also, it can be Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube

To clarify - you're talking essentially about creating a career spanning playlist for a single band?

I'd personally be more interested in playlists with one song from a bunch of different bands ala a compilation or radio playlist. Most of the bands I listen to nowadays don't have enough material to justify a 15 song playlist for just that act.

We can also do 3x3’s if that’s more interesting. I’m just trying to keep things interesting in these dark times. Lol

I'd like to make one with a variety of bands that aren't huge already

Figured I'd start this since work is slow today, and I needed something to do. I can't figure out how to get the playlist to embed, here's the link:

Chorus.FM Metal Thread 1, a playlist by Shane Boyd on Spotify

Each of the songs with some commentary in parentheses are listed below:

    1. Sick/Tired - "Bitter Cold" (Probably my favorite contemporary American grindcore band)
    2. Undergang - "Ufrivillig Donation Af Vitale Organer" (For those who like their death metal with the occasional doom part and vocals that sound like a spoon getting caught in a garbage disposal)
    3. Haapoja - "Maailmanlopun Keskipiste" (Angular, punky black metal from Finland FFO Deathspell Omega, Mgla without the sketchy nationalist connections)
    4. Backslider - "Skull Honeycomb" (Fastcore/noise rock hybrid)
    5. Inter Arma - "Wailing Moon" (Off an early EP, it's still my favorite Inter Arma track after all these years)
    6. Death Toll 80k - "Hydra" (Probably my favorite contemporary grindcore band period)
    7. Battlemaster - "Displacer Feast" (Black/death/speed metal hybrid for those who like the idea of hunting and eating six-legged tentacled cats)
    8. Bleeding Out - "Suppression Mentality" (Canadian deathgrind. Their first full length comes out on Profound Lore this fall)
    9. Valkyrie - "feeling So Low" (Ex-Baroness Thin Lizzy/Iron Maiden inspired stoner metal out of the mountains of Virginia)
    10. Thantifaxath - "Where I End and the Hemlock Begins" (Canadian black metal somewhere between the dissonance of Deathspell Omega and the atmospheric leads of Deafheaven FFO of people who wear black cloaks)
    11. Mindforce - "Fratello" (Probably more hardcore than metal, but no one in this thread is gonna hate those sweet crossover leads)
    12. Nasum - "Distortion & Disinformation" (1995 track from the Swedish grind masters)
    13. Peace Test - "Authority" (You hate cops? Great. You'll like this)
    14. Ulver - "Machine Guns and Peacock Feathers" (Palette cleanser. I dig their synthpop stuff more than their black metal material. So sue me)
    15. Converge - "The Saddest Day" (Hell yeah)

I love the playlist ideas but we've already done a few in this thread and they always lose steam

This is not me discouraging the idea, I'll contribute when I'm done with my cross country move

I have family in Clearwater. They love it, I just can’t take the humidity. Also just drove cross country from Upstate NY to Denver in 3 days. Was a lot of fun, But I’m willing to bet yours was a bit more scenic of a drive.

I cannot fathom enjoying the feeling of heat + humidity combined. Real sicko shit.

Also Seattle to FLA sounds like one hell of a drive, could be fun
