they were pretty awful when i saw them opening for deafheaven and gojira (weird tour lol) but I like their studio stuff decently enough

 

Y'all want some chunky-ass black/death with musical themes surrounding prehistory, paleontology, fossils and extinct species? Yeah the fuck you do, listen to this. That guitar tone is so thick it almost sounds like there are two bass guitars. That and it really does sound like the soundtrack to the Permian period if that means anything to you.

Did you like their comeback album? My friends and I were all really hyped when they came back and the clips they chose to post on IG were all really good and intriguing, but then when I actually got the album it seemed like those were the only parts I wound up really liking.

 

I did. It was far from perfect but it’s a nice return to form. Especially for a band that was losing its identity and trying to go full on Butt Rock with the previous albums before they took a hiatus.

Is Songs For The Deaf a metal album though? Really?

 

I’ve always considered the band “Metal-adjacent” but I could see how people might think otherwise.

 

This an amazing throwback of an album. A friend of mine toured with them back in the 00’s when he was in Heal These Wounds, and they never blew up so they gave it up seemingly after one album. I think it absolutely shreds and the drumming is phenomenal. Wish I knew if they had gone on to different projects after. Says 2013 on AM/Spotify, but I believe it was released in 08’.

 

What the hell is going on? Why are people so terrible?!

 

The remaster of BTBAM’s Alaska sound amazing, it’s so much fuller and richer in sound. Such an upgrade.

Which supergroup do you got? Probably gonna give the edge to Act of Denial just based on pedigree and the single being incredibly good alone, but Wizardthrone has got some potential. Guess we'll just have to see.
