He's still a terrible human being, but I'm not gonna shame someone for doing sex work if everyone involved is doing it safely and consensually. Even with a premise like that.

 

You shouldn't be shame for sex work the vast majority of the time, but I draw a line at point guns at women.

 

No disagreement here on that in terms of my individual perceptions. It's trashy and not a great look considering his history with all social issues, but as long as everyone involved is being safe (e.g., being a fake gun for starters) and consenting to participate in that scene, I see nothing wrong with it. Edgeplay is a moderately common kink in BDSM circles and can be done very safely with a person with the right experience. But it's still Fronz so all of these considerations can probably go out the window.

 

Random Saturday morning updates:

-The new Power Trip live album kicks ass and captures their live show surprisingly well. I saw them at a small venue on that tour with Sheer Mag and Fury so it takes me right back nicely.

-New Torture Tomb tape might be my favorite metal EP release in a while. All 3 tracks are good.

-Also digging the new Living Gate and Ulthar releases. Need to dig into them more before making a final opinion though.

 

I think it sends a terrible message to his teenage boy edgelord fanbase.

 

The Ulthar album is very good and very unique. The most impressive thing is that they are a three piece.

 

Shout out Torture Tomb (more *somewhat* local shit)

 

I would drive FAR to see a Shadows Fall reunion.

 

Can't believe it's already been almost 8 years since I saw them last, opening for KSE for the return of Jesse on the AOJB tour. Amazing show in a 600 cap room.

 

I saw Death Ray Vision open for KSE a few years ago and I really wanted them to play Shadow Fall songs.

The vocalist is still in bands and the drummer is in Overkill

Brian is in Overcast and Death Ray Vision. Two very good but inconsistently active bands.

The production is VERY raw but there is no denying it’s Brian.

 

Nice. Didn't realize Bittner was playing with Overkill. That's sick. He was one of my favorite drummers during that time/scene. I remember watching his Modern Drummer drum clinic on DVD.

I knew this, but completely forgot/didn't think about it.

I didn't think Overcast of DRV were active anymore, but I haven't kept up really, so...

Gonna have to check out Hell Night now.
