Found these dudes randomly on Apotify because they're touring with Raging Speedhorn. Really grotty, filthy mathcore stuff with a dirty twist, kind of like Every Time I Die getting torn limb from limb by The Chariot. Pretty cool stuff.

Debut album from Breaking Wheel, a death metal band with a tad of hardcore influence, out of Michigan. Here's some heavy, heavy stuff.

In stuff that's out today, here's some surprisingly dope technical death metal from Electrocution out of Italy. I hadn't heard of these guys until I saw an article this week about No Clean Singing on them, and I'm pretty impressed. Gonna have to dig into their back catalog now.

 

The Downfall of Gaia record isn’t too bad. Some nice black/post metal.

 

Chilean thrash metal from Critical Defiance FFO 80s style production, Slayer, Sepultura, Ripper

 

Demo/EP/Split collection from Laceration out of the Bay Area in California. Pretty killer death/thrash. Unspeakable Axe delivers once again.

Sorry to be posting so much this morning. There's a lot of good releases out today that I wasn't expecting to be floored by...and I can't help but not share the wealth with y'all.

Agreed. It's pretty sick. The vox have some nice crustiness around the edges that separates them from the other black/post-metal bands out there and puts them in the realm with stuff like Dodsrit and Agrimonia. Like I said, there's too many good releases out today.

Random side note - Downfall of Gaia shares a drummer with The Number 12 Looks Like You. That's some crossover I didn't expect.

 

Enjoying this. I really like the mix of death metal and hardcore when it doesn't end up being shitty deathcore

conversely, it's 74 and sunny here. one of those days where i hate having an office job, but it is what it is.

the dnd campaign i've been running for a few months now is a semi-homebrewed 5e campaign for my wife, my brother, and a couple of my friends. we just finished the sunless citadel, and now i'm trying to figure out how to connect it to the overarching story and other potential modules from tales of the yawning portal that i may potentially run. it's all pretty straightforward stuff, but it's just a matter of finding the time. i've been so unmotivated in the evenings after i've gotten off work recently that all i want to do is sit on the couch with the wife and cuddle with the cats. we were supposed to have a date night tonight, but she already called that off due to not feeling too well so i offered to cook for her instead. right now, i'm torn between roasted chicken thighs (that were supposed to still be frozen, but one of our asshole cats decide to open up the freezer yesterday while we both were at work) or grilling up some porkchops. probably gonna be a gametime decision and then the other will get cooked tomorrow/sunday.

 

I love it! Easily one of my favourite releases of this year so far!
