This is the first time I've seen someone with a fully negative view of that album, seems like a lot of outlets listed it as one of their year-end picks. I was okay with it, but that first track has some of the dumbest lyrics I've ever heard in a thrash metal song. There was more I enjoyed from that album than not though, but yeah it's nowhere near as good as Time Is Up.

This is some good shit. Gonna check out the rest of this album for sure.

Saw this earlier. Such a tragic loss of someone so legendary, and still so young. Fuck.

The Light This Torch record is pretty solid actually. It's more of a hard rock record than metal, but it gets heavy at points. Howard is singing through the entire thing (no real growls or screams) but his voice sounds good and the songs are catchy.

I still miss the "Blood Had Been Shed Howard" but the guy sure has range.

Also, this new Zeke album is fun as shit.

RIYL: Motorhead influenced hardcore, soundtracks to benders involving whiskey and cocaine, Discharge I guess.

Coming to you live from a cornfield in far, southern Illinois!

In all seriousness, I'd love to make it to this fest someday, but it's clear on the other end of the state and festivals where you camp have never been appealing to me whatsoever. Still an awesome lineup though.

All I can think of is The Gathering of Juggalos when I think of camping festivals and HELL NO! Lmao!

Ironically, this is actually held at the same campground that housed the GOTJ festivals from 2007 to 2013.

Shouts out to @sophos34 for basically always making me want to listen to metal every time we talk. Pelican, Torche, Sannhet, Darkest Hour, and Trna have all been in my rotation heavily this week along with more accessible bands like Deftones, Baroness, and Underoath. Looking forward to discovering artists I haven't listened to a little later today

Nekrogoblikon were easily the best band of the night. I unfortunately got to the venue late so I only got to hear Gloom's last song but they're seemed promising. Entheos were good. Lorna Shore was okay but aside from some cool guitar parts, a lot of it felt like generic deathcore but then again it could just be that I'm not familiar with the material. Rings of Saturn played as a three piece to a backing track (drums, guitar, vocals) They were okay but I never really cared that much for them anyway so I left after 4-5 songs.

Super bummed I missed that show date. It sounds like I would've enjoyed it a ton all-around.

Anyone know why Rings of Saturn isn't playing with a bass player? I don't keep up with the band at all, but it seems like they had 4 or 5 dudes on stage when I saw them last (which wasn't long ago)
