Also, Willowtip is still around?! Good for them! I remember checking them out a long time and going down the rabbit hole of the Circle of Dead Children discography.

...and now I want to toss on Terminal Redux

 

Terminal Redux is just too damn long, like 30 mins too long. I get that it's a concept album but damn

 

^Gonna agree with @theagentcoma and that sentiment applies to the rest of Vektor's material. Talented band, but I lose interest in their albums so quickly.

 

I enjoy the new Slugdge and also liked Terminal Redux but yeah, for sure agreed on Vektor's material being too long. The new Slugdge could have done with some fat-trimming as well, but less so.

 

Going to this on Friday (thanks to $5 tickets) - Not really familiar with any of these bands outside of RoS and Entheos, and I'm only slightly into them.

Any of the others worth a shit?

 

A quick google search of Nekrogoblikon revealed this photo, which makes the $5 well spent

 

Any good metal releases out on Friday?

 

I'm pretty terrible at knowing when albums actually come out, but I know Primordial's new one releases on Friday

 

Augury (tech death), Light The Torch (Howard from Killswitch's new bans), Primordial (Celtic black metal), and Zeke (Motorhead influenced hardcore) stand out to me when I'm looking at the list of releases for this week...

Edit: Forgot a pair of stoner/doom releases from Realms of Vision (ex-Animosity/Set Your Goals) and Eagle Twin (Southern Lord doom duo).

 

Yeah, they seemed like the most interesting. It should be fun enough to go drink some beer and hear heavy music. I like Entheos enough, and they were solid live when I saw them before.

 

Terminal Redux is the perfect length for me, not a single lull in that album for me.

 

HERE WE GO THRASH METAL THURSDAY

Havok's album from last year was not good, so instead we turn to their 2011 release Time Is Up in its entirety:

+1 to Havok's album from last year being one of the worst albums I've ever heard lyrically.

 

Nekrogoblikon are my favorite band, bar none. They're great live and all around a bunch of cool dudes. Definitely get a photo with John (the goblin) if you can.

Lorna Shore is blackened deathcore done perfectly. They're awesome too.

Make sure you watch their music videos - they're comedy gold.

If you want my recommendation, start with Nekrogoblikon's album "Stench", and then go forward through the Power EP and Heavy Meta.

You can listen to their first record, Goblin Island, if you reeeeally want to, but it's by far their weakest release.

 

This is so unbelievably sad. So young and such a legend.

 

I’m so glad I got to see them when I did. They played in a record store when I was 14 and begged my folks to take me but it couldn’t. Damn :(
