kirk and james are decent at what they do and might be in the top 5 most influential metal guitarists ever as a result of metallica's popularity, but there are infinitely better rhythm and lead guitarists out there.

as much of a prick as mustaine is, he's a better rhythm and lead player than both of them.

Newsted was (and is) under-appreciated as fuck, and probably deserves some kind of sainthood for putting up with the shit Lars threw at him but I definitely wouldn't rank him above Cliff.

 

I know the Slugdge album will be a popular album to dub as overrated and I don't know where it will fit on my list but I'm still having tons of fun with it
